Interested in an Exciting Career as the Executive Director of Transparency International Canada?
Transparency International Canada (TI-Canada) is looking for a successful, highly motivated person to take over the position of Executive Director starting in June 2025 or shortly thereafter.
The successful applicant will be rewarded with the opportunity to lead a small but influential non-governmental organisation with a unique mandate, to play a key role in advancing anti-corruption work in Canada, to work with prominent anti-corruption experts, and to travel nationally and internationally for work.
The Executive Director will have a range of responsibilities relating to leading the work of TI-Canada, including in terms of representing the organisation publicly, including in the media and on social media, delivering on its vision and strategic plan, fundraising, and ensuring its financial stability and appropriate financial reporting, maintaining its networks and relationships, managing staff and contractors, and overseeing the delivery of its projects and other work.

About TI-Canada
TI-Canada is the leading anti-corruption NGO in Canada, engaging with government, the corporate sector, civil society and others to promote the adoption and implementation of best practice laws, policies and practices at all levels within Canada. It is part of the wider TI family, which comprises the international secretariat, based in Berlin, as well as over 100 country chapters, of which TI-Canada is one. TI-Canada undertakes a wide variety of activities in its work to combat corruption, of which some of the more important include:
Developing best practice policy and practice positions on a variety of anti-corruption issues to help inform Canadian governments and corporate actors.
Engaging in dialogue and advocacy to support the adoption and implementation of laws, policies and practices.
Raising public awareness about corruption risks in Canada and how best to address them.
Undertaking research to advance our understanding of best practices and corruption risks and how they should apply and be managed in the Canadian context.
Engaging different communities and individuals in Canada in anti-corruption work.
Essential Qualifications
A degree in an area which is relevant to the work of TI-Canada.
At least five years’ relevant work experience, including some experience managing people and budgets.
Knowledge of anti-corruption generally, including as to key risk areas for Canada, and national and international mechanisms to address those risks.
Excellent written fluency in English, including the ability to prepare and communicate complex policy positions for a high-level audience and clear statements for general public consumption, and to edit the written work of others to those same standards.
Strong public speaking skills, including being comfortable addressing large audiences.
The ability to travel nationally and internationally.
Strong research and analysis skills, including the ability to assess legal and policy proposals against best practice in the relevant area.
The ability to work efficiently, including under pressure.
The ability to collaborate with people from a range of cultural, religious and social backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing projects for a non-profit organisation.
Experience in growing a small civil society organisation in Canada.
Knowledge of French.
Knowledge of or experience working with TI-Canada or other members of the TI network.
Work experience in the area of communications, including digital communications.
Basic accounting skills.
Experience developing grant and funding proposals.
Experience establishing and maintaining relations with project funders and other types of donors.

The inclusive compensation package for this position will be in the range of CAD 105,000-115,000 depending on experience, comprising salary and other benefits. The position is a full-time position.
