Transparency International Canada (TI-Canada) welcomes the steps taken to establish a federal Financial Crimes Agency via Bill-C29, which underwent a first reading on 27 April. The Bill’s provisions to establish an independent Agency with a mandate to investigate financial crimes and contribute to the recovery of proceeds of crime could help deter financial crimes and enforce our laws.
