TI Canada is happy to announce Susan Côté-Freeman as the new Chair and President of Transparency International Canada.Susan is an experienced anti-corruption professional whose career with the international Secretariat of Transparency International spanned almost two decades. Throughout her career with Transparency International, Susan worked for the organization in London, Washington D.C. and Berlin. As Head of Transparency International’s Business Integrity Programme, Susan led projects aimed at raising standards of corporate anti-corruption practice. She represented Transparency International on global anti-corruption initiatives such as the United Nations Global Compact, the Partnering against Corruption Initiative of the World Economic Forum and the B20. Susan has been a member of the Board of Transparency International Canada since 2016. We also welcome our new Board Members Daniela Chimisso dos Santos and Lida Preyma.Daniela Chimisso dos Santos is the Principal Consultant at Invenient Solutions Consulting, and has practiced law in the oil, gas, and mining industries for almost 20 years. She has extensive national and international experience, including in Sub-Saharan Africa, South America, and Asia. Recent projects include working as National Researcher for Transparency International Canada' Mining for Sustainable Development program. The United Nations Development Programme has recently recognized her as an extractives expert.With over 22 years of experience in Canadian capital markets, Lida Preyma is currently the Director of Global AML Risk Management and AMLRO Designate (Toronto) at BMO Capital Markets. In this capacity, she has led the development of the Site Visit Program for high risk clients, advises on global policy developments and has represented BMO since 2014 on three B20 Taskforces providing policy recommendations to the G20: Anti-Corruption, Trade & Investment and Financing Growth. In her previous role as Director of Global AML Compliance, she was responsible for regulatory compliance management, issue management, inherent risk assessments and testing.TI Canada members voted to approve the new Chair and Board Members during the 2019 Annual General Meeting, which happened on June 26 in Toronto. Their contributions were crucial for the Chapter's growth in the past years.
