Three new books from within the Transparency International community

Dear TI-Canada Colleagues:

Recently, three books have been written by individuals in the Transparency International community: Laurence Cockcroft: Global Corruption: Money, Power, and Ethics in the Modern World. Global Corruption represents the author's accumulated experience working extensively in the developing world, co-founding TI and developing strategies to combat governmental and corporate indifference to corruption issues in both the developed world and developing world. Visit http://www.laurencecockcroft.co.uk/book/ to find out more. Available through Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk. Pierre Landell-Mills: Citizens Against Corruption: Report From The Front Line. Partnership for Transparency Fund (PTF) has over the past 12 years supported over 40 TI national chapters in implementing anti-corruption projects. This book, published recently with World Bank support, tells the story of what was achieved and the lessons learnt. It draws on a unique data base of 200 case studies and is directly related to the work of TI National Chapters. A flyer describing the book (available on Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk in both paperback and eBook format) is attached. Frank Vogl: Waging War on Corruption: Inside the Movement Fighting The Abuse of Power. Waging War on Corruption is an insider’s account of extraordinary battles against the abuse of public office by politicians and officials for their personal gain. This is a global journey from the birth of pioneering anti-corruption organization Transparency International in 1993, to the Arab Spring in 2011, as courageous people in scores of countries challenge authority and fight for justice. At stake is nothing less than our global security, the reduction of poverty, the stability of our economic and financial systems, and the cause of freedom and democracy. We wish you happy and safe holidays and a splendid 2014!
