Transparency International Canada (TI Canada) is calling on the Ontario government to act on the recommendations of the Ontario Integrity Commissioner (OIC), based on its finding that the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Steve Clark, violated the Member’s Integrity Act, 1994. TI Canada is a staunch proponent of the need to maintain integrity in government processes and to ensure that those holding public office are not involved in conflicts of interest.

This report discusses the challenges and opportunities associated with resource development in the province and the importance of transparency and accountability in the environmental assessment (EA) process.

TI Canada is a staunch proponent of the need for transparency in government processes and that matters such as these should be conducted in a consultative manner.  

TI Canada, together with our End Snow Washing Coalition partners Publish What You Pay Canada and Canadians for Tax Fairness, have together provided a submission to the Department of Finance in response to their Consultation on Strengthening Canada's Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Regime. 

Conference Report from the Integrating Anti-Corruption in Canadian Foreign Policy conference held in Ottawa on June 13th, is now available! TI Canada was delighted to co-host this event and share in its success fostering dialogue among a variety of participants.

As part of Transparency International Canada’s mission to promote how Canadians can uphold transparency and combat corruption, TI Canada will be presenting the 3rd instalment of the Canadian Integrity Award at the Toronto Day of Dialogue on November 30, 2023.  

The Canadian Integrity Award recognizes an individual or organization who has demonstrated a commitment to tackle corruption and uphold transparency while setting an example for other Canadians to take action.  

During Transparency International Canada’s 26th Annual General Meeting on June 22nd, 2023, three new members were voted onto TI Canada’s volunteer Board of Directors by the TI Canada membership. These members bring with them a deep understanding of TI Canada’s mission and a dedication to strengthening transparency across Canada. TI Canada is very pleased to welcome these new Board Members, a new Chair and President, and a renewal.

Budget 2023 introduces a number of reforms and elaborates on ongoing initiatives to strengthen Canada’s anti-money laundering (AML) regime. These measures are welcomed by a coalition of civil society organizations – Publish What You Pay Canada, Transparency International Canada, and Canadians For Tax Fairness.
